Is my Employer in the Cycle to Work Scheme?

If you’re an employee looking to acquire a bike through the Cycle to Work Scheme, your employer will need to be registered with us. Once they’re signed up, you can start searching for the perfect bike and accessories, making huge savings in the process.

Does my employer have to be registered?

In short, yes! Through the scheme, your employer essentially pays for the goods acquired, organising for your monthly payments to be deducted from your gross salary. If you’re not sure whether your organisation is signed up, your best bet is to ask either your boss or have a chat with HR.

Don’t worry, there are a ton of employer benefits to signing up to the scheme too, including recouping the full cost of the goods plus up to an additional 13.8% back on top!

You can also refer your employer with our handy form, here.

What happens after my employer signs up?

You can start exploring the full range of bikes and accessories we have to offer! From mountain bikes to battery boosted rides, discover the bike that suits you in your very own unique Cycle Solutions shop.

Once you’ve chosen your perfect bike and accessories, we then put together the salary sacrifice cycle to work agreements for both you and your employer. After this is all approved, our team will simply contact your organisation to arrange delivery of the goods.

I’m self-employed, can I use the Cycle to Work Scheme?

The Cycle to Work Scheme operates using salary sacrifice – meaning that to take part, you must be paying tax and National Insurance via PAYE.

If you’re self-employed, you’ll be paying income tax and National Insurance annually based on your profits via Self-Assessment, but you don’t receive a salary. Therefore, as you can’t utilise the salary sacrifice aspect, you aren’t able to take part.
