How to register for the Cycle to Work Scheme

The Cycle to Work Scheme is a government initiative designed to encourage employees to cycle to work by providing them with tax-free bikes and accessories. The scheme offers a number of benefits to employees, including a more active lifestyle, reduced carbon emissions, and savings on commuting costs. If you're interested in taking advantage of the Cycle to Work scheme, here's how to get started.

For Employers

Before you register your business, check that you are eligible:

  • You pay your employees through PAYE
  • You have the authority to enter into a binding contract on behalf of your workplace or organisation.

And if you are, signing your business up for the Cycle to Work Scheme with Cycle Solutions is free and super easy!

  1. All you need to do is sign up with Cycle Solutions. We can discuss your scheme and how you would like it set up, alternatively, if you know what you want you can sign up via our online form in just a few minutes.
  2. Once your business is signed up, you’ll get access to our range of free promotional resources, so you can promote this new employee benefit.
  3. Next, your employees can access their unique cycle to Work shop and browse online to select their new bike & accessories. It’s that easy!

For Employees

  • Once your employer signs up with us, we'll provide you with a link that allows you to access your unique Cycle to Work shop. Here, you can browse eligible items up to the limit your employer has set, with a full savings breakdown displayed alongside products and baskets.
  • Once you have selected your Cycle to Work package via our online shop, simply proceed to checkout as you would on any other retail website. We will then collect all the necessary information and automatically generate the Hire Agreements for you and your employer to sign.

What happens once your application is submitted:

  • Both you and your employer will need to complete and approve the Hire Agreement and Salary Sacrifice documents. These are typically sent via simple e-sign documents and can be easily and quickly done.
  • At this stage, you will have the option to select your preferred end-of-scheme process, including our savings-maximizing zero-cost end-of-scheme option. (This can also be done at the end of the salary sacrifice, so don't worry).

What happens once the application is approved:

  • Following approval, our team will contact you to confirm your selected sizing and arrange delivery at a date that is convenient for you. It's that easy!
