Cycling to work encouraged by Virgin Trains

Virgin Trains have shown their dedication to cycling to work by introducing 40 more cycle storage points at Stockport train station. There are currently 20 points available to commuters but thanks to funding from Cycling England this can now be increased to allow more people to cycle to the station.
In order to promote the improved facilities the station will be giving away free rail tickets during National Bike Week.
Station Manager at Stockport, Lesley Ross, said: “More and more people are choosing to cycle to the station as part of their journey to work. Virgin Trains is delighted to be able to provide additional facilities for cyclists and play its part in promoting environmentally-friendly travel alternatives.”
Cycle Solutions currently offers discounts to all employees of the Virgin Group through their own staff benefits website, Virgin Tribe. In addition, many employees of the group’s management company have benefitted from savings of up to 51% from the cost of bikes and equipment supplied through the Cycle Solutions cycle to work scheme.
